Backtesting: To do only backtesting on MultiCharts you can safely use only the IQFeed data that I uploaded in the Dropbox folder shared with the other Unger Academy students.

Once you have downloaded the data package from the folder of your interest, you can open it and import it into the Quote Manager and then select the "Offline" mode from MultiCharts to use only the data saved in the database (MultiCharts: File => Preferences => DataServerMode: Offline ). In this way you can use the data saved for backtests but not for the paper trading that still requires data in real time.

Paper trading: For real-time data you could start by subscribing to the data of IB even knowing that there may be sporadic errors but at least you would not spend a large sum only for paper trading ...

If in the future you want to trade directly on futures with IB, it is recommended to subscribe to a qualitatively higher feed (such as IQFeed).

From what I know, however, IB does not provide an extensive history so I doubt that you have enough data provided to do even backtesting ...
